I liked the discussions we had in class today because it helped me look at all the events and how they connected into the future episodes. I think the train job is a good episode to watch after finally finishing the series. It helps show how the people on the crew felt initially and it foreshadows future events. It allows the viewers to understand that even though most of the crew makes their income through illegal jobs they still have morals and always look out for others and each other. The episode also reveals how even though Inara's profession may not seem noble she still is acting very high class and respectable. The audience also sees how the doctor may eventually become accepted and welcomed by the whole crew even if it has not happened yet. You can infer that the doctor and his sister River will stick around because they have been accepted by Captain Malcolm and the doctor shows he has a good work ethic and is very useful and in deep space anyone useful who can work would be nice to have around.Nisko is another character that was introduced in this episode who proves to be a very key character later in the series. Nisko is also important because it seems whenever he goes he tests the trust and loyalty of people. One of his henchman proves loyalty to Nisko and continuing evil while Nisko tests the commitment of Mal's crew without his knowledge. The fear he instills in his enemies almost caused the crew to abandon their captain and good friend Zoey.

Unless you watched all of firefly you probably shouldn't read this because I will probably ruin it for you. I finished watching them today and I really liked the way the characters evolved throughout the show. Of all the characters River was my favorite because she started as a freak or an outsider and becomes the largest threat to the crew not only because she is wanted but because shes has moments of craziness where she attacks Jane or where she is pointing a loaded gun at people without realizing it. I am not sure yet but I think I might write my paper about the season finale because that is River's most important episode; however I will probably watch the full movie tonight because I am very interested in how the show plays out. I am not sure but it seems like the shows creators did not intend to end the series with that episode. Plus I liked the reavers a lot and I am pretty sure they are a big part of the movie. Oh I was not sure which blog to put it in but everybody who likes the show should at least watch the Halloween episode because Rick Castle, who is the captain on firefly, is dressed in his regular firefly clothes. When someone asks what he is supposed to be he looks at them all goofy and says," A space cowboy!!" I thought it was really funny. Anybody have any ideas about what I should watch next? I looked at the list and I haven't watched any other ones so it will be a random guess if I pick.

Let me start this blog by saying I am awful at writing and these blogs get more difficult every day I have to write I have been watching a lot of firefly in the last couple days because its on netflix. I thought the intro would eventually grow on me but in fact it gets more and more annoying every time I watch it and I really think its the reason the show got canceled. The episode I decided to watch is later in the series so I may accidentally ruin it for people who have not watched to far into the series. By the way I know most of the characters from other shows and I forget most of the characters names so I will refer to the pilot as Steve (Steve the pirate from dodge ball). I thought the whole scene where Steve and Malcolm are being tortured and the whole conversation about sleeping with Steve's wife was going to be a huge change in the show and it turned out to be a something to laugh at. I could tell he was using it to help Steve the pilot stay alive once again showing how good he is at his career. Captain Malcolm shows over and over that he is more than just a lowly criminal but a man who cares deeply about his crew. I think I am going to watch the rest of the show and the movie soon because this is a really good show, but I also think everyone should watch Castle and a few episodes of the early seasons of Chuck so you can see how bad ass Jane is as Casey and how cool Malcolm is as Rick Castle.

The Train Heist was a really good episode for many reasons. It was much different than the pilot episode because it made the audience realize that the crew and captain are not just about the money or that they are not criminals but good people struggling to get by in an unfair universe. The crew shows how doing the right thing can cause old friends to become enemies but in the end it all good because the captain is a bad ass and he will kick you into an engine.==This episode also shows how even though the captain is wiling to risk his life on a regular basis for his crew but his some of them do not return the favor. Adam Baldwins character shows that he is willing to leave his captain for cash. I think he may have been paid off by the mole in the previous episode because he had a knife to ct the rope. Even through all that the show still has really funny lines. Best line of the show was when Adam Baldwin's character went crazy and the captain said, "did he go just crazy and fall asleep?"

Today I watched the pilot for Firefly and really enjoyed the show. I defiantly think the introduction may be the worst on tv in a while. The song is pretty whack and they really could have done much better for that. I mean the show is really good but the intro may be the reason it got canceled. No but really I like how the crew for the ship is all bad ass. I saw Adam Baldwin from the NBC show Chuck and he was pretty much the biggest bad ass in the show and he defiantly stepped his game up in this show.
I really like the characters on the ship because it seems like for every main character on the show has a foil or opposite character. I like the relationship between the captain and the shepherd and think if he stays with series he may be a very important character. I like the way they mixed the sci-fi space adventure with a western. I think it makes the show very unique amongst other sci-fi shows. At times I feel like it makes the show kind of ridiculous but when it's ridiculous it gets pretty funny. For instance when they go to sell the food stuff or whatever they stole and the lady and her gang ride out on horses its kinda dumb but at the same time it makes the scene much more interesting. By the way the federal mole looked just like Jim Carrey and he annoyed me.

My name is John Kurz and I am a Sophomore. I am from a high school Cincinnati called Sycamore. I have wrestled since I was in fourth grade and wrestled for team Ohio my sophomore and junior years of high school. I am pretty mad at myself for waiting so long to take freshman English, but I don't really mind because this seems like a cool class because I don't mind the kind of shows we are going to watch. I have seen "Castle" and the main character who plays Rick Castle is the main character in "Firefly."+++ I am a pretty bad writer so I don't think I like the idea of doing one of these blogs every night. English has never been a class I have been good at or liked at all. I have always been good at math and science and I have normally taken those kinds of classes in high school and college. I think since I am so bad at this class I am going to try harder so I can become a better writer since basically every job on earth requires a decent amount of writing skills. I hope by doing these blogs every night I can hopefully become a half decent writer, and since I will be able to write about something that is pretty interesting to me. I think my roommates may have most of the shows on DVD so I will be able to watch them at my house and not have to deal with all the trouble of going to the library or central classroom.
